This page describes utils-us and its browser utilities, including PDF to Letters. It distinguishes the PDF processing done on your device from the services used to deliver the website.

Tool inputs

Timers, calculators, text tools and the random picker run locally. Entered text, names, list entries, numbers and dates are not sent to a processing server or included in our analytics events. The tools do not save these inputs in a website database or local storage. Reloading or closing the page clears them.

Timers require the page to remain open. Background tabs and sleeping devices can delay display updates or optional sound. Clipboard access is used only when you choose a copy action; the browser may apply its own permissions.

Selected PDFs and filenames

When you choose or drop a PDF, the app reads it in your browser to create a preview and output tiles. Its PDF processing code does not upload the file, its contents or its filename to a conversion server.

The filename appears in the page and is used to name the generated download. The source file is not modified. Opening a PDF in PDF to Letters does not publish it on this website or create a shareable copy.

Browser memory and downloads

The app holds the selected document, preview and settings in memory while you use the page. It does not save those documents or settings in local storage, session storage or a website database. A generated download uses a temporary browser URL.

Downloaded PDFs remain wherever your browser saves them until you remove them. Browser caching, history, tab restoration and extensions are controlled by your browser and device, not by PDF to Letters. Close the page when you have finished working with a sensitive document.

Optional browser assistants

In compatible browsers, PDF to Letters exposes tools that an assistant can use to read or change the current print layout. The read-layout tool can return the filename, selected page number, scale, layout settings and any displayed error. These page tools do not return the PDF's file bytes. If you use an assistant or extension, its own handling of information it can access is separate from the local PDF-processing code.

Hosting and routine website requests

This website is hosted with OpenAI Sites. Your browser requests the website and its program files from the hosting service. The hosting platform may process routine connection and usage data, such as IP address, requested URLs and browser information, and may use platform cookies. See OpenAI's privacy policy for its practices and available privacy controls.

Local PDF processing does not mean the website makes no network requests. The tiling app does not put your selected filename or document contents into its page URLs.

Advertising

Current status: Google AdSense ownership is verified and the site is awaiting review. Advertising requests remain disabled; the app is not serving ads. A separate Google-certified advertising-consent message is configured, with consent, rejection and manage-options choices. It will be served through the advertising tag only after advertising is enabled.

If advertising is enabled, Google and the advertising partners listed in the consent message may process cookies, device or browser identifiers, IP address, browser information, page visits and ad interactions to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and, where permitted by your choices, personalize advertising. Advertising permission is separate from optional analytics. The app does not include selected PDF contents, filenames or document settings in advertising requests.

The advertising-consent message will provide a clear rejection option and access to its vendor and purpose choices. The Ad privacy link at the bottom of every page is the entry point for reviewing those choices; while ads are disabled it opens this status explanation. Where the certified message applies, the control will reopen it so you can change or withdraw consent. Browser settings can also remove advertising cookies; this does not erase information already received by an advertising provider.

See how Google uses information for advertising and Google's ad settings. The active consent message will identify participating partners and link their policies. Ad requests will not be switched on merely because you allow analytics.

Optional Google Analytics

If you choose Allow analytics, the site loads Google Analytics to measure visits and general tool use. Until you allow it, the site does not load the Google Analytics tag or send analytics events. Rejecting analytics does not limit the tools.

Measurement includes fixed page names and paths, the origin of a referring website, and counts of tool opens and fixed actions such as starting a timer, performing a calculation, counting or transforming text, picking an entry, converting a PDF and requesting a download. Query strings and URL fragments are removed from the page and referrer values we send. Download counts mean a download was requested, not proof that a file was saved or printed.

Our events do not include PDF contents, filenames, document text, the text of errors, entered dimensions, calculation inputs, dates, list entries, typed text, directory searches or other tool settings. Google may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, and analytics cookies under its own practices. Google signals and advertising-personalization signals are disabled in this integration.

After consent, Google Analytics can set cookies such as _ga to distinguish visits; this site's tag uses a 90-day cookie lifetime. The site stores only your analytics choice and its date in browser local storage for up to 180 days. This consent record is separate from the PDF, which remains in browser memory.

You can change your choice with Privacy settings at the bottom of any page. Rejecting later stops this site's future analytics events and removes accessible analytics cookies. It does not erase data already received by Google. Browser controls can also remove cookies and site storage. See Google's privacy policy and Google Analytics data practices for more information.
